Google Ads has begun rolling out click share for search campaigns. The company plans to have click share available in all search campaigns in the coming weeks. Click share is the estimated share of all achievable clicks that a campaign has received. The lower the click share, the more opportunity there is to capture additional clicks. There is a relatively simple process for calculating click share. If an ad is clicked 20 times, but Google Ads estimates it could have been clicked 100 times, then the click share is 20%. Google Ads’ estimation of the number of clicks an ad could have received is based on whether an ad had more extensions, higher bids, or higher budgets. Google offers the following recommendations to advertisers:
Previously, click share was only available for Shopping campaigns. In the coming weeks, click share will be available at the campaign, ad group, and keyword levels for search campaigns.
